Bidding on Shifts

Understanding how to bid - and win - on shifts is key to using Switch

With Switch, bidding shifts the power to you to determine the hourly rate you are willing to work a shift for.

Let's look at a few tips that will increase your success at winning the shifts you bid on!

Bidding on Shifts

Look through shifts listed in the Switch app to find a shift you'd like to work. Each shift card will list the maximum that the shift pays. You will see this worded as "Shift Pays Up To...."

Tap the shift to view the shift's details. If it looks good, tap the Bid on Shift button.
The Shift Details screen
Use the bid slider to set the hourly rate you wish to earn for the shift. When you've selected your rate, tap the Bid button to submit your bid.

NOTE: You may bid on as many shifts as you like but you cannot be accepted for two shifts that have overlapping schedules.

Recurring Shifts

The example above is a PRN or "per diem" shift, which is a single shift available at the specified date and time. You may also find recurring shifts to bid on. A recurring shift is identified by the Recurring Shift Icon 🔁 and is a sequence of two or more related shifts.

Your Bid was Accepted

The facility is notified whenever a new bid is submitted for their shifts. If the facility accepts your bid, you will receive a notification (SMS text message or email) that you've been assigned to the shift. The shift will move from the Schedule screen's Bids tab to the Scheduled tab.

Your Bid was not Accepted

Sometimes your bid won't be the one a facility accepts. You will not see the accepted provider or bid. No worries though, there are many shifts available and more are added all the time. You can reach out to your Switch Account Manager if you've questions about your bids.
