Important Tips to Ensure an Accurate Time Card
Every facility is geofenced to ensure that you are physically present when you clock in and out for your shifts. The Switch app is essential for managing your time at the facility.
When can I clock In for my shift?
You have the option to clock in up to 15 minutes before your scheduled shift starts. It's crucial to clock in on time, as failure to do so will result in your shift being marked as "Attention Required." Late clock-ins can affect your Reliability Score, so make sure to be punctual.
IMPORTANT: Each facility is geofenced ensuring that you are on premises when clocking in and out of every shift.
You will know that you have successfully clocked-in when your shift switches to from "Scheduled" to "In-Progress."
What does pre-clock in do?
30 minutes before your scheduled shift, you will receive a notification giving you the option to pre-clock in. This feature lets the facility know that you are on your way to work. While pre-clocking in is not required, we highly recommend it as it notifies both the facility and the Switch team that you intend to arrive on time for your shift.
The Pre-clock In Feature does not clock you in for your shift - you must still clock in to your shift once you get to the facility.
Clocking Out
1. Clock out. After completing your shift, don't forget to clock-out! As a reminder, you must be within the facility geofence to clock out.
2. Enter your clock out time. Note: you cannot pre-clock out by adding a future time. You can only add the current time, or past time.
3. Enter your break time. Note: some facilities require a mandatory break time. Even if you did not take a break, they will deduct it from your timecard.
4. Your timecard will be generated. Please double-check that all of the information on your time card is correct. After your submit your time card, you will not be able to make edits to it.
IMPORTANT: Your time card must be signed by an authorized employee of the facility. You cannot sign your own time card, and you cannot have your time card signed by another agency worker.
5. Congratulations! You have successfully completed a shift!
What if I cannot clock-in?
In case you are unable to clock in for your shift due to issues like poor cell phone reception, low battery life, or any technical problems, it is crucial to inform a Switch Account Manager before your shift concludes. The Account Manager will manually clock you in, enabling you to clock out and have your time card signed at the end of your shift.
Any missed time punches will be cross-checked either with the facility's time card and/or entry system or with the on-duty supervisor. Shifts with timecards under review will not be compensated until the clock-in and/or clock-out times are verified with the facility.
What if I work longer than my scheduled shift?
If you continue working longer than your shift, you will be able to clock-out at the end of your shift with the correct time, as long as you are still within the facility geo-fence.
