Why am I being charged a Provider Cancellation Fee?

If you cancel your shift within 6-hours of your shift, you will be charged a cancellation fee

Switch places a high importance on managing cancellations effectively. Last-minute cancellations create a pressing need for staffing at our facilities and can negatively impact the reputation of Switch, as well as that of the healthcare professionals associated with our platform.

To discourage the occurrence of cancellations, Switch enforces a cancellation fee for shifts that are canceled within 6 hours of the scheduled start time.

This fee amounts to 2 hours of the agreed-upon hourly rate for the shift.

For instance, if you accepted a shift with a pay rate of $24.00 per hour and you cancel that shift just 5 hours before it begins, a cancellation fee of $48.00 will be applied. This fee will be deducted from your next completed shift payment with Switch.

Additionally, if you cancel a shift within 6 hours of its scheduled start time, you will automatically face a 7-day suspension from the platform, and your Reliability Score will take a hit.
